Being such a young blog, I have a long way to go to get a regular readership like John Chow Dot Com, a blog that I have been reading on a daily basis for a few weeks now. The information that he provides in his blog is priceless.
John Chow has come up with an ingenious way to promote his blog; while providing a great service to his readers. He is asking for reviews of his blog in exchange for back links. A single link back to your site isn’t usually worth a hill of beans; however a link from John Chow could do wonders for your page rank.
One of my favorite features of his blog is the focused category list. His blog is limited to 12 specific categories, but it provides a wealth of information on each topic. Even his “Ramblings” category keeps on-topic by being relevant to his blog.
I have been taking some mental notes of the topics and tools found in this blog and I plan to use many of the Wordpress plugins that are mentioned to improve my site. I see a lot of benefits to both myself and my readers to learn from someone who’s already been in my current position.
