Did you know you can blog from Microsoft Word now? You may not realize it yet, but the new version of Office has blogging functionality built right in. This is my first post using this functionality, so I’m not ready to endorse or bash it . . . yet. So far, setup was a snap. I had to enter my blog type, my url, and my login info. That’s all there was to it. It then presented me with blank canvas like any other new Word document.
One plus I can see is that I have all the formatting options that are available with MS Word. i.e. I can type in italics, bold, underline, etc. I can also change the font size without any html knowledge. If this initial test is successful, I will make other posts via Word to put the functionality of Microsoft blogging to the test. Another benefit that I can see is that I don’t have to be online to compose my blog postings. I can login to my laptop from anywhere to begin composing a new posting. Then only when it is fully composed do I need to find a hotspot or any other Internet connectivity to publish.
Remember I said that I can’t bash it yet, but I’ll tell you what I am going to look for after I publish this. That is the quality of the html that is generated from this blogging tool. That is one thing that Word has always been lacking in, from the early days when it first gave you the option to save a document as an html file.
So the moral to this story is: You don’t need to have any technical skills to manage your own blog. All that’s left for me to do, for this post, is to click on the Publish button.

As far as I can see it is OK,so I think I am going to give it a try…
I`ve read something about this topic on wordpress forums and someone said that the html was bad and ruined the whole design… BUT I don`t think it was Word2007

Thanks for the comment. Using Word 2007 to post a blog has become a realistic option for a usable editor.

Very nice! Looks like I’ll have to upgrade to 2007.
The previous versions bloated up HTML terribly – I cringed whenever I saw the source code.
