Monetizing Your Blog Opportunities

I’d like to take some time to review 2 different options we bloggers have to make some money with their blog. There are many more options, but I will limit this review to Payperpost and Blogitive. I’ll go through some Pros & Cons of each:

Payperpost

  • Pros
    • They have a wide variety of sponsored posts to choose from.
    • There are specific guidelines as to how to get your blog approved that are easy to understand and adhere to.
    • The website is easy to navigate and claim opportunities.
    • They offer a referral program where you can make some extra money by promoting their service to your readers.
    • They pay via paypal.
    • Payment offers range from $5 to $15 for young blogs and up to $1000 for popular blogs.
    • Many of the offers require only 50 words.
  • Cons
    • Once you claim an opportunity, you only have 60 minutes to complete your entry and submit.
    • A recent update to the site has enabled the advertisers to severely limit which blogs qualify for their opportunity. (i.e. Young blogs that aren’t very popular have limited opportunities to monetize their blog as opposed to experienced blogs that qualify for a majority of opportunities.)
    • Many of the free blogging sites like blogger and xanga have limited opportunities in payperpost.
    • The open opportunities tab does not display how many offers of each opportunity are available.

Blogitive

  • Pros
    • There has been a constant stream of opportunities that I am able to reserver.
    • Once you reserve an opportunity, you have 48 hours to compose your post before the offer is made to someone else.
    • You are told exactly how many openings remain on an offer before you reserve it.
    • They pay via paypal.
  • Cons
    • The variety of offers are limited in their scope. (i.e. All options that I have seen revolve around real estate, stock options, or vacation opportunities)
    • Every offer I have seen has been for only $5.
    • Every offer I have seen has required at least 100 words.
    • A recent upgrade brought the entire service down for about 1 week.

You can decipher out of this what you like, but at this time my recommended service is payperpost. My main reason for recommending them is that the variety of opportunities allows your blog to cover a broader range of topics. That being said, if your blog is dedicated to one of the three topics; real estate, stocks, or vacations; blogitive would be a fantastic monetizing option.

I like to add another con for making money posting sponsored post of PPP and Blogitive:

It can possibly hurt your blog traffic. Some bloggers have reported that their blog traffic performance getting down after posted several sponsored posts. And many visitors voiced out they don’t like to read sponsor. So I think sponsored post shouldn’t appear too often on a blog.

Hiya, i have seen your site when searching a few weeks ago and i really love the design! I just bought a new 3 character domain (cost me a packet) for a niche review blog, and i was wondering if your design is a free or paid one? I’m new to WordPress and about to set it up, and i would really like to get something with a similar look to yours. Any ideas where i could download or buy something similar? Thanks for your help! :)
