Amateur Blogs Evolution

I’ve recently realized that there are quite a few searches for the term “Amateur Blogs”, mainly on Yahoo!.  So I thought this might be a good time to remind you of some posts that I’ve made that make up the evolution of the amateur blog.

If you, or someone you know, is looking to start a blog; I made a 3 part series on Starting a blog:  Starting a blog, Starting a blog (step 2), and Starting a blog (step 3).  As I learn more, I may revise them, but these 3 posts will give the beginning blogger many things to think about when first starting up.

Once you have started a blog and have made at least a handful of posts, it is time to promote your blog.  There are many ways to promote it, but the simplest and a very effective way is to comment on other blogs.  Promoting your blog is also done from within the blog itself.  One way to do this is to make use of the many plugins that are available, I recommend using the top commentators plugin.

I’ll keep this post short so you can follow the links to get caught up on the basics of starting a blog.

Happy Blogging!
