Yahoo! Mail has become the first, major, free email provider to offer unlimited storage. Meanwhile, Google is only giving us a measly 2869MB. Any bets on how long it takes Google to offer up unlimited storage? I’ll go conservative and say within a month. This isn’t going to make me switch from gmail to Yahoo!, but I do find it interesting that Google is now behind Yahoo! in this category.

I am a google “whore”. I have blind allegiance to them. I will not dirty myself by using yahoo mail, no matter how they might entice me with goodies and unlimited storage space. It just means the spammers won’t get an NDR when they fill my inbox.

I haven’t used up much of Google’s 2.8gb limit so Yahoo’s unlimited offer doesn’t appeal to me, especially because i have an established gmail account name and the interface is much simplier/faster!

I’m with both of you. . . the Google interface is much cleaner and more intuitive for me.

So it appears the consensus is that yahoo mail isn’t going to win the “free web based email wars”?

I’m with you on this. I have both gmail and yahoo accounts and gmail is the way to go

I don’t really care about storage space because after 1GB, it really doesn’t matter. I just wished one of them offered POP access so I can use Windows Mail to access it.

I haven’t checked Yahoo!, but Google does offer POP access.

No problem Rick. Let me know if there is anything else you need or would like to see. I’ll see what I can find.
