<description> I too am perplexed at the "yes we can" slogan, and far too many other political acts of posturing simply to get elected.

Yes we can what?

Answer: follow like morons, admit to being so deparate to be led that I'd follow anyone seemingly smarter than me off a cliff, I can supress any thoughts about things that are actually important and maybe even achievable just to feel like I belong to something.

The 50 year plan (you know whose plan I speak of) of dividing everyone in American society into the smallest possible groupings has succeeded. We don't know or care very much about anyone, even those to my immediate left/right. We want to belong so much, and have a need to be perceived as being on the same team as the amorphous intelligencia that I we'll even follow a moron like Al Gore. Hint: could global warming be a ploy to get the herds of morons gathering up to participate in "world government". Politicians don't do anything simply for the good of doing it, even lumps like Al.

Where are the voices of the social scientist on what's going on here. Have they become like economists, who can only confirm a recession after we're already bellybutton deep in one. We're in a crisis of social conscience, and those that need to be vocal are strangely silent. What I speak of here is spending some time doing some meaningful root casue analysis of what's going on, how did we get this way, was this part of a much greater plan, and what can we do about it.

Or,

We can spend our time being amused by Brittany's next screw up, drink our beers, and let this nice little deal called America go down the crapper without even a peep.
