Illinois Earthquake
I, like many here in Illinois, was awoken by an earthquake. Closet doors were rattling, metal pots were clanging and my mirror was shaking. At about 4:37am today Illinois experienced a 5.4 earthquake. I’m sure many in California are questioning what the big deal is, but for us in the land of corn this is enough to freak some of us out. It has been reported that this tremor was felt from St. Louis to Chicago to Indiana.
Working for an insurance company in central Illinois, I’m curious what if any action they will take in response to the tremor in their “back yard”. If anyone reading this felt the tremor or slept through it but live in the affected area, I urge you to check your house for any structural damage. Check for any cracks in walls or floors that weren’t there yesterday.
Good luck to you all and hopefully you made it through this rare Illinois event unscathed.

J…where was the earthquake located actually? You might have felt it but you don’t have a fault in Peoria. It might have been a 5.4 but you probably only felt a 3.4, which is nothing!
Your right…people from Cali really do laugh at the small ones! No…it was decent…just a decent size where the epicenter was.
Have a good day!
